摘 要：
Professor Ivan Koulakov received his Ms. in Geophysics at the Novosibirsk State University in 1991. After completing his PhD in 1995 he has obtained a Postdoc position at GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (GFZ), Germany (2002-2004). Professor Ivan Koulakov is the author and co-author of over 70 SCI publications in SCIENCE, Solid Earth, GJI, JGR, Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research, Tectonophysics and others.
A tomographic algorithm, LOTOS (local tomography software), developed by Professor Ivan Koulakov, has been used to investigate the deep structure beneath the Central Andes, Central Java, Costa Rica, Toba, the Anatolian fault region, Nankai (Japan), Vranchea, and other areas.
Currently Professor Ivan Koulakov is a Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice-director of Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, SB RAS and Head of Laboratory of Seismic Tomography.
